About The Exhibition – BLUR is a five-screen, theater-like, film-based exhibition that screens seven films continuously for ten days. BLUR is a curatorial exercise in identifying non-traditional filmmakers and the ability of filmmakers to produce “authentic”, immaterialist representations of blackness.

The Work – The vision for BLUR is about dissolving the conventions around short film, art-house film, branded film, comedic film, "experimental" film, and music videos in exchange for a more formless definition of black cinema as a preeminent genre within contemporary visual art. BLUR is the first true iteration of Konigbagbe’s curatorial practice. A practice that looks to behold the moments that embody the things which I aspire; beauty, complexity, formlessness.

Featured Artworks
Untitled, Bradford Young, 2019
Mr. Parker, Alex Ashe, 2019
Everybody Dies, Nuotama Bodomo, 2016
The Help, Cameron A. Granger, 2013
Salutation, Rodney Passé, Two-Channel Video, 2019
Black Superman, Russell Hamilton, 2014
Current State of Everything: Body As Archive, Dana Washington, 2019
Slauson Malone, Jasper Marsalis , Live Performance, December 3rd, 2019
